Paul Thomson Top 5
Paul Thomson plays the drums in some of Glasgow’s finest bands, Franz Ferdinand, Correcto and The Yummy Fur. In addition to this, he runs a record label, presents a radio show, DJs around the world and is a self confessed music junkie. We know that living in Edinburgh and Glasgow can cause certain addictions, but this man has a serious habit.
The synopsis of his fortnightly radio show ‘They’re only records Paul’ on Glasgow’s Sub City FM, is likened to a to a loser’s lonely hearts ad : ’Anally retentive record nerd seeks listeners, likes Punk Rock, D*I*Y, House musik, Latin, Afro, Exotican and Glam. Interested parties should tune in”.
His radio shows and DJ sets have shown us just how varied and spot on his obsession is, and in turn we too became obsessed, and after witnessing him play a roof raising set with Hung up and Say Yes Resident Nadia Ksaiba in Glasgow, we managed to pin him down for a DJ at Say Yes. This time he joins In Flagranti and our residents for a Friday Bank Holiday Rager.

PARTY AND PARTY AND PARTY AND YEAH

After a winter hibernation, Say Yes returns for a double header of parties over the next two weekends.
Firstly, we will be at Dalston Superstore as part of a double header with our friends and kindred spirits Hot Boy Dancing Spot as part of their New York Legends Party. More info on that here: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=123057617772534
Then next week, we take over Stone Cave in Dalston for the third year running as part of the Land Of Kings festival, with special guest sets from In Flagranti and Franz Ferdinand/The Yummy Fur sticksman Paul Thomson, alongside residents Rory Phillips, Nadia Ksaiba & Thomas Whitehead.
Say Yes 3rd Birthday Party

We are proud to celebrate 3 years of Say Yes. Throughout its time we’ve seen some truly memorable nights: like the ghoulish Halloween party a year ago, its spookily magic atmosphere permeating every party since, to the plethora of memorable sets from our international DJ friends and residents.
Via our rather ad hoc humble beginnings at a brimming rave pub and special one-off events to our current residency at The Drop, Say Yes has fast become an East London institution. Our philosophy is simple – the music does the talking – and everyone and everything else follows. Residents Nadia Ksaiba, Rory Phillips and Thomas Whitehead join forces to play together all night long…for the sake of the party. Arrive early!
Dan Beaumont – DJ Mix
Dan Beaumont was supposed to make us an exclusive DJ mix, and he did not. So I can only hope that you haven’t listened to his latest one up on mixcloud and if you haven’t – you are in for a treat, and you have already then you’ll only have to come and see him DJ at Say Yes othis Saturday and experience it for real.
October 9th with Dan Beaumont

After the girls of Say Yes, Nadia, Ksaiba, Eeek Empire and special guest Ellie Jackson (La Roux) so successfully transplanted the Say Yes party spirit to a one off party at Dalston Superstore last month, it is time for the boys have a go. Back in the Drop, and after hosting last months fantastic guest live show from Ali Renault. residents Rory Phillips and Thomas Whitehead are this time joined by Dan Beaumont.
Dan needs very little introduction, being founder and former resident of Disco Bloodbath and with remixes for stars such as … … and …. under his belt as well as original material with his exciting new (and top secret!) house project. Having played alongside us, and been a faithful regular punter at our parties we expect him to fully contribute something spectacular to the night! You can expect to hear a wild and wonderful celebration of genres from disco, post punk, early house and beyond, accompanied by a suitably wild visual mix constructed each month by resident DJ and designer Thomas Whitehead.
